The null program doesn't necessarily do nothing, depending on what language it's written in.

As such, you probably need to specify what language the interpreter is in (or allow it to be specified by the program somehow?). For example, several languages act like a cat program if given an empty program. --ais523 13:47, 25 December 2017 (UTC)

And Nil, although APLWSI's difference is to specifically claim the null program as its interpreter. Nil claims true. In Linux the following appears to work:
touch APLWSI; chmod +x APLWSI
which generates an executable null program / interpreter that "does nothing". I'd say the definition is "in any environment where the null program does nothing" Salpynx (talk) 23:39, 6 January 2019 (UTC)
