Nope. derivatives derive from Nope.. An esolang is a Nope. derivative only if it doesn't process the source code and just print the same thing all the time, or the author just claims that it is a derivative of Nope.. An esolang that does nothing, like APLWSI, is also considered a Nope. derivative.

Nope. itself is considered a Nope. derivative as well.

The following things are true for most of these esolangs:

  • It always terminates (which means it can be in the Total category).
  • It has output (if it doesn't do nothing), but no input.
  • It has exactly one quine.
  • Any program is a self interpreter, there is an infinite number of them.
