Esolang

I understand that it's Lambda Calculus, but it's hard to recreate something like that. -5anz (talk) 16:07, 24 November 2024 (UTC)5anz

the maybe with missing prerservation of the actual commands. so the program forgot what it did last
The program can just do that anyways? -5anz
wadda ya mean? Yayimhere (talk) 16:12, 24 November 2024 (UTC)
Take Python, the line x = input() is immediately forgoten about, the only evidence it happened is that x is now whatever the user put in. -5anz
no i mean immeadtly. like for example x = input() would first take x = then forget it did that(so now x is null) and will take input and do nothing with that Yayimhere (talk) 16:20, 24 November 2024 (UTC)(from now on ill just be writing ~)
Then how would you store data? The way I was thinking of removing data was making it self modifying, so, unless we embed, say, Print "a" as one command, there's now ay we can do it! wait... -5anz (talk) 16:25, 24 November 2024 (UTC)5anz (Sounds good, I'll do 5.)
idk thats what we would have to find out. well a challenge would be you would have to cary the data with the commands:] ~
hello? ~
Sorry for being a bit late, I was working on an Eror interpreter, and had to feed my pets. Regardless, the "wait" was referring to how we could try ACTUALLY make print("a") (which I used the completely wrong syntax for Xb ) a command, and do the same for b, c, d, e, f, and so on, but now that I think about it, Befunge exists, although I guess you could make the argument that ^, >, v, and < exist, but we could just add warps? 5
Can you please add why you took so long to reply when you... reply? 5
Reminder that we still need to work on the Esolang. 5
sorry i needed to sleep. also the befunge thing is like yea but not rlly. it wouldbt work cuz it doesnt even have a syntax *where* you can forget.
But befunge has arrows and quotes. "!dlroW ,olleH" woul treat !, d, l, and so as commands! 5
first of all the arrows arent like that and the string is such a little part it *would* be unique
go on... (5)
second of all if you made it forget that it would prop just say oh yea i did " now theres som e commands and no another " pusinh the empty string twice or smth y
also i need to slepe bye!! y
i have some time (y)
Firstly, the reply chain is getting long again. we should move back to my profile. Secondly, good point, but you do realize you just proved that you proved my point further by saying that. Thirdly, I can not read a word of that. 5

issue with your proof of Tea's turing-completeness

hello yayimhere, i just noticed an issue with your proof of tea's turing-completeness. the arrow commands' translations break under certain conditions inside loops. if it's inside the loop, the translations have no clue whether or not it's wrapping around or not. i made this program to illustrate that:

+>+>+[>]

since when the loop is executed the pointer is at the edge of the tape, it assumes the > inside is always wrapping around. additionally, i noticed the translations of the arrow commands are noops. since { and } directly undo each other (they were designed that way), the programs {{}} and {{{}}} do nothing. because of this, i've removed the "Computational class" section and marked the language as "Unknown computational class" again. i think i have an idea for how to make this work, but it is currently 1:10 AM (01:10) for me right now so i won't be implementing it. additionally, since this initial comment is already really long, i think my discord would be a better place to discuss this further: @waffelz0212

sorry forgot to sign that one ;( but i've made another proof, you can disregard the above comment and i've marked tea as Turing-complete again
Waffelz (talk) 23:30, 28 November 2025 (UTC)
Ah, true. sorry lol. but uh, great you fixed it --Yayimhere2(school) (talk) 03:44, 29 November 2025 (UTC)

Brainfuck operating system

I thought about making an operating system in brainfuck. Can we work together? Mrtli08 (talk) 09:54, 16 January 2026 (UTC)

Im not the best brainfuck programmer so I dont think I'd be your best help --Yayimhere2(school) (talk) 09:55, 16 January 2026 (UTC)
Check out [[1]] you can find a lot of operations, i even added an operation for checking if x==0 at the end.
Yea, but if you have a bunch of codes yourself, that you should prolly make it yourself. Also, [[]] links use the article name not a link --Yayimhere2(school) (talk) 09:59, 16 January 2026 (UTC)
i dont have an bunch of codes and im bad at formatting. maybe u will also learn im starting it

User:A()'s suggestion

Can you help me with making programs in Duckwise Northward, thank you. -- A() (talk) 20:00, 16 January 2026 (UTC)

Uh, I can try I guess? --Yayimhere2(school) (talk) 20:04, 16 January 2026 (UTC)
Yes, duckwise northward is based off BF, meaning it is possibly turing complete and an turing tarpit. But... this isnt enough hard. We need to make something worse i think but duckwise northward is very great
I could make something worse. Anyways, I dont think ill try making any programs, the "No repeating" rule is absolutely too limiting --Yayimhere2(school) (talk) 20:14, 16 January 2026 (UTC)
We can repeat in duckwise bruh read the page
I know, but you have to use every command *before* you can repeat one again. --Yayimhere2(school) (talk) 20:39, 16 January 2026 (UTC)

What did Ispltng do?

the only concerning thing about him that i saw is that he hates some japanese people Dragon Eater SIX SEVEN 13:19, 17 January 2026 (UTC)

firstly, PrySigneToFry‎‎ did it, not him.
secondly, there is a clear words in the page that says THAT ISPL TRANSPHOBIC #47
ik, im not blind, but i havent noticed anything transphobic about him yet Dragon Eater SIX SEVEN 14:56, 18 January 2026 (UTC)
oh, that's what you meant #47
I was talking to him over chat, he asked if I was MTF(Male To Female, which I kinda am), and he was just straight up "this is unacceptable" and then later said he literally, was transphobic. --Yayimhere2(school) (talk) 20:18, 17 January 2026 (UTC)
oh, ok Dragon Eater SIX SEVEN 14:54, 18 January 2026 (UTC)
first, I'm islptng(lowercase!), not Ispltng. second, I now accepts transgender, it could be a thing, it's just me that I will never be a trans... -- i  s  l  p  t  n  g  11:31, 20 January 2026 (UTC)
Ah ok. I'll remove you from the list, sorry. I will also write your name correctly from now on --Yayimhere2(school) (talk) 13:09, 20 January 2026 (UTC)

You seem to have recently created a bunch of serious programming languages. Can I collaborate with you to create a new one? By the way, I almost never sign my name.

sure. may I see one or more of your esolangs? btw, you should sign your comments, its really easy, as you can just press the button on the wikipedia editor --Yayimhere2(school) (talk) 15:25, 9 November 2025 (UTC)

We can start from a human-understandable syntax. That is, make it esoteric but not too esoteric.
Syntax, but not command symbols? --Yayimhere2(school) (talk) 11:59, 16 November 2025 (UTC)
That is to say, for each command, we can assign one or more words in any natural language (usually English, e. g. print x), or an abbreviation of several words, or a pictogram that accurately conveys the meaning (for example, ⇄ x y can represent swapping the values of x and y).
I say pictograms. Also, I think it would bee cool to have this language be like mathematically weird. Mayhaps something where you can state every symbol as a number and then some properties about them. And then also redefine numbers. And some other stuff --Yayimhere2(school) (talk) 12:26, 16 November 2025 (UTC)

theres a typo in the your language list, overshoot dirac delta is written as Overshoot Dilac Delta, it should be changed to Overshoot Dirac Delta --dragoneater67 talk contribs 06:37, 15 September 2026 (UTC)

Also, ℕDQ and Trainhooking problem could be fixed by replacing jumps if zero with jumps if nonzero, and it would not make instruction set more complex. --ChuckEsoteric08 (talk) 06:51, 10 October 2026 (UTC)

Maybe? to be honest idk but sounds like a possibility. --Yayimhere2(school) (talk) 11:16, 10 October 2026 (UTC)
Talk:Incdecisive Machine and my proof for Qadi have a way to translate regular Minsky machine into it --ChuckEsoteric08 (talk) 11:31, 10 October 2026 (UTC)
Prolly yes then. --Yayimhere2(school) (talk) 13:14, 10 October 2026 (UTC)

About collab, I have been thinking for a while about making a fungeoid (2D or 3D) with a very small maximum size of the program but which would still be TC. For the version of Befunge which can store arbitrary integers in the stack 80x25 is enough to build brainfuck interpreter (as did by User:Nthern) but with a different instruction set and proof target size could be much more smaller. --ChuckEsoteric08 (talk) 13:54, 10 October 2026 (UTC)

I don't see how that could be TC: there would exist only a finite number of programs, unless you have input, but then it's just L completeness. And personally I dont find L completeness very interesting. I mean I guess one way you could make it interesting(to me), is seperate the FSA which controls the memory, and the program in itself, so that the FSA(somehow) could be infinitely large, causing the amount of (Program,FSA) pairs to be infinite... ? --Yayimhere2(school) (talk) 14:40, 10 October 2026 (UTC)
Note: the idea itself is not un-interesting btw, just with the TC requirement specifically idk.

It would indeed be L-completeness, which I only find uninteresting if it done in HQ9+ style. Oh and what if program would be made out of arbitrary length integers? --ChuckEsoteric08 (talk) 15:03, 10 October 2026 (UTC)

i have a suggestion: padic numbers --dragoneater67 [talk|contribs] 15:04, 10 October 2026 (UTC)
The reason I find it uninteresting, I find TC proofs via compilation or smth more interesting than just interpreting some input. in your case theres in fact infinite programs. I think both of these ideas are interesting(i.e having programs be (syntax,FSA,memory) 3-tuples, AND programs of arbitrary length integers). Also, de67, for P-adic numbers... I mean they *are* very pretty. Could be funny with surreal numbers, even. --Yayimhere2(school) (talk) 15:14, 10 October 2026 (UTC)
I actually find that a bit more interesting since it shows the language's instructions in practice and is the reason I love Esointerpreters and especially self-interpeters (though I have made only one self-interpeter myself). --ChuckEsoteric08 (talk) 15:43, 10 October 2026 (UTC)
Idk I dont think it's a thing you can rlly debate about lol. I think if we make smth L-complete, it seems *more* fun to make a language where its finite number of programs reach a computational level thats like, weird in between? like with Feed the Chaos. And ON that, if we do try that, maybe we should only pre-plan to reach A class, not a specific one(unlike FTC). Eh? --Yayimhere2(school) (talk) 16:03, 10 October 2026 (UTC)
There seems to be very few languages in which it's 2D program space contains not individual characters but arbitrary integers or strings (and DownRight is only example of the latter it seems, and it's Liquid DownRight could be described as one-dimensional), so I think the language would be either of these two. --ChuckEsoteric08 (talk) 16:12, 10 October 2026 (UTC)
Now that I mentioned DownRight, I have a new idea: let program would be a set of strings seperated by spaces and have a queue with some inital value in it, at each step of execution it will dequeue an element, append every symbol of the string, and based on the symbol dequeued it would do something --ChuckEsoteric08 (talk) 16:22, 10 October 2026 (UTC)
I like this, though, waddaya think of *also* doing the comp class thing? cuz doing this as we are right now, it seems like we could strike smth weird. --Yayimhere2(school) (talk) 17:20, 10 October 2026 (UTC)
That also sounds good. I will upload a language with very similar execution to what I said (but deque / reversable-stack based), which as you would see would has a very simple proof. --ChuckEsoteric08 (talk) 17:31, 10 October 2026 (UTC)
Let's work on that then! I think it's an interesting concept-combo (so a conbo), could you make a user sub page so we can both work on it! --Yayimhere2(school) (talk) 17:36, 10 October 2026 (UTC)
Added it as кече, it itself isn't interesting for me (and probably you too) but it gives general idea of how languages like I described work (but without 2D part), you can give some of your ideas which I would add on my user subpage. --ChuckEsoteric08 (talk) 18:08, 10 October 2026 (UTC)
I suggest we keep the language itself within a user subpage, and use its talk to discuss. --Yayimhere2(school) (talk) 18:32, 10 October 2026 (UTC)
I suggested the same, however кече is a seperate language with a seperate page. And now about discussing, I have a seperate Wheelliam esolang family, and I should mention that anyone would be allowed to make their proposed languages on the talk page which I will add based on some criteria. Here is the page for collab project: User:ChuckEsoteric08/Collab --ChuckEsoteric08 (talk) 18:39, 10 October 2026 (UTC)
