Please stop creating categories without approval
In general, it's hard to create a category on this site – often people try to create categories even though a) the page would work better as a list or a set of "See also" links, b) the category is poorly defined or would work better with a different definition, or c) the category is poorly named and would work better with a different name. As such, we require people to discuss categories on Esolang talk:Categorization before making them, and get a consensus that the category seems reasonable.
You've been making several categories without approval (and/or adding them to Esolang:Categorization without approval), and people are getting annoyed at it (not just me). Please stop doing that. --ais523 23:57, 10 May 2025 (UTC)
- I asked you to stop creating categories! Even when the category itself is useful, you aren't creating them correctly (e.g. we haven't finished discussing exactly what should go in a "counter-based languages" category, and it definitely shouldn't contain metacommentary about the creation of the page). --ais523 00:38, 11 May 2025 (UTC)
How to sign your comments
If you're making a comment on a talk page, you can sign it by typing four tilde signs (~~~~
) – that will automatically expand to a signature containing your name and the date, saving you from having to write out the markup yourself. (I noticed you were trying to sign a couple of comments manually – using the tildes is easier.) --ais523 01:28, 11 May 2025 (UTC)
