I suppose it's a definitional issue, but considering that the previous URL is now an HTTP redirect, considering it canonical would be rather silly. Besides, esolangs.org is A-recorded to the system that runs the wiki. User:ehird has ultimate authority I suppose, but I enormously doubt he'd disagree. GregorR 01:01, 25 February 2012 (UTC)

The site's original owner answered this some time ago, but I can't find the link. IIRC, it was something to do with just being a quick placeholder logo, and people kind-of liked it so it stuck. --ais523 02:15, 24 February 2015 (UTC)
