whar
whar is an esoteric programming language made by User:Dragoneater67 in 2026.
Overview
The program is a newline-separated sequence of instructions executed top-to-bottom, it halts after the last instruction was executed. Lines are 1-indexed. There is an arbitrary precision floating point register. Instructions take fractions (with syntax x/y) as arguments, fractions that evaluate to an integer are prohibited. Instruction pointer may be a floating point number, in such cases the instruction is executed partially, for example, if the instruction pointer is on line 10.5, and line 11 is *3/2, then the register gets multiplied by 0.75, since .
| Instruction | Description |
|---|---|
*n |
Multiply the register by n. |
/n |
Divide the register by n. |
\n@m |
If the register is divisible by n, jump to line m. |
Computational class
whar is Turing complete since it is equivalent to a section 14.2 Minsky machine.
