Talk:Constant
Literals
I need to think on it for a bit, but I want to say that a language has a literal for a family of constants if expressing the nth member of the family can be done in O(log n) letters. The motivation is to make it clear whether a language has the syntactic possibility of interesting non-literal constant programs. I also have the personal motivation of determining whether languages like Cammy have interesting constants; by this definition, no, Cammy has literals for all numeric values and lists.
