ARG
ARG (A Real Game) is a programming game made by User:Dragoneater67 in Category:2026.
Overview
The program is a cyclic grid of instructions. There is a program counter initially placed on the bottom right corner of the program grid and facing up. There is also a "level", which is a grid of octal digits that tiles the infinite memory grid. There is also a grid pointer initially placed on the bottom-right corner of a tile in the memory grid and initially facing up (it doesn't matter which tile since all tiles are the same initially). At each step, the program counter executes the instruction it is pointing to, then moves 1 step in its direction. The goal of the program is to eventually move the grid pointer from the bottom right corner of the top left corner of the tile it was placed on.
| Instruction | Description |
|---|---|
` |
Move the grid pointer N steps forward. N being the value of the digit at the grid pointer. |
* |
Rotate the grid pointer N * 90 degrees. N being the value of the digit at the grid pointer. |
~ |
Move the program counter N steps forward. N being the value of the digit at the grid pointer. |
@ |
Rotate the program counter N * 90 degrees. N being the value of the digit at the grid pointer. |
+ |
Increment the digit at the grid pointer if the digit is not 7. |
