13 is an esoteric programming language by User:Dragoneater67. It is based on the idea of no state existing outside of the program itself.

Overview

The program is a sequence of unbounded nonnegative integer numbers. At each step:

  1. Dereference the first number 13 times, then increment the dereferenced number (basically, (**************0)++).
  2. Append the first number to the program.
  3. Remove the first number from the program.
  4. Go back to step 1.

Dereferencing out-of-bounds wraps around.

Unbounded 13

Unbounded 13 is a variant of 13 where the program is a pre-initialized tape of unbounded nonnegative integers that expands infinitely to the right. Undefined cells are initialized to 0. At each step:

  1. Dereference the first cell 13 times, then increment the dereferenced cell (basically, (**************0)++).
  2. Increment the first cell (basically, (*0)++).
  3. Go back to step 1.
