Tritlik is an esolang by User:ChuckEsoteric08 created as a simplification of Dubbelweal which uses ternary digits (trits) as data.

Description

It has a right-infinite tape which is made out of trits. It has following instructions:

  • ^ - increment current cell, incrementing 2 overflows to 0.
  • > - move tape pointer right.
  • < - move tape pointer left.
  • * - if current cell is 0 move in the same direction, if 1 turn 45 degrees clockwise, if 2 turn 90 degrees clockwise.

All other characters are ignored

Computational class

Tritlik is Turing-complete as it can simulate ternary Reversible Brainfuck:

  • > and < remain the same.
  • + becomes ^ and - becomes ^^.
  • A loop abc[def]ghi becomes:
abc*         *  def  *         *ghi
   |\       /|       |\       /|
  *+ \     / |       | \     / +*
  ** *\   /  |       |  \   /* **
    *  * /   |       |   \ *  *
    *  */    |       |    \*  *
     **/     |       |     \**
      /      *       *      \
     *                       *
     *                       *
      *                     *

This requires some adjustments for nested loops so that paths wouldn't collide.
