The when-expression is a staple of actor languages. It occurs in granddaddy E, as seen in these examples: [1] It also occurred in my Monte language [2]; see documentation here, last updated in 2016: [3] In these languages, a when-expression denotes a future action which will occur in a separate time and place from the current action; it's a builtin construct for managing asynchrony. I'm not going to stomp the page, because I want to give Rainbow a chance to rewrite it on their own, but they should know that this isn't their original idea. Corbin (talk) 15:06, 25 July 2024 (UTC)
