esolangs is an IRC bot maintained by fizzie that supports the official esoteric languages community IRC discussion channel. It usually uses the nick "esolangs". It performs four functions.
- It logs all activity on the channel. These logs are published on the web.
- It notifies the channel about all edits to this wiki.
- For a short time while the channel was moving from Freenode IRC network #esoteric to the Libera IRC network #esolangs it forwarded messages between the channels on the two networks.
- Since 2024-08, it also answers questions about esoteric languages, looking up the answer on the esoteric languages wiki.
