- While the concept of a literate programming wiki is interesting, doing it on the highest level of MediaWiki abstraction is clumsy and unwieldy. It would really be better suited to an extension. Phantom Hoover 17:52, 3 October 2010 (UTC)
- Obviously I cannot add extensions, as I do not own this wiki. Dottyweb can be added by editors of any wiki using MediaWiki, without needing to install anything. (If you want it as an extension, look at the literate programming wiki. This is not a literate programming wiki and therefore I do not think we need to add this extension, but the owners can add whatever extensions they like.) --Zzo38 17:59, 3 October 2010 (UTC)
- I don't think it should be put on other people's wiki pages, because I doubt it will have a large userbase, and it is confusing for people who don't know what it is; I have no qualm with you putting it on your own pages, or anyone else who wants to putting it on their own. I also think that it is silly to try and put it on everything, as there are many pages, and it is unlikely we will ever have the time to convert them all; there will be inconsistency on the wiki. Furthermore, when there is only one file involved, Dottyweb offers no advantages to simple copying-and-pasting. Also, you have to assume a filename when you add it; the author may not intend a specific filename to be recommended, or even dislike the one assigned. --alise (91.105.114.37 17:53, 3 October 2010 (UTC))
- Thanks, that does make sense. I will stop using it on things that I did not add. (If you want it removed from things already there, do it yourself.) --Zzo38 17:59, 3 October 2010 (UTC)
