Google Slides (formerly Zenter) is a cloud-based presentation software acquired by Google in 2007. It's original purpose was to make presentations, but you can do much, much more with it.

Linking slides

You can make buttons go from one slide to another.

Parallel universes

Let's say you want to have the player make a choice that will impact the program later. You would duplicate all the slides from after the choice to the impact, and link the choices to the parallel universes. Let's say, you have the player make a choice in slide 2. The parallel universe could be 3-7, and the impact could be on 8. Then, 9-13 could be the other parallel universe, and the impact could be on 14. There is no better way to do this.

Animations

You can add animations to slides, which can sometimes be useful.
