More demotivation?

Alright, all the xp2 stories being force-yoinked into tangential just demotivated me further, as now I feel more like wwei and I just can’t get anything into mainline. I’m feeling like I should just leave OotT again. After all, OotT was never intended to be a group project.

Why didn’t a separate folder for xp2 stories work?

In my opinion, most xp2 stories (except Banishment maybe?) don’t even fit best in tangential, and I don’t like them in oott-supplement in general. At the very least, create a new folder for xp2 stories in supplement and dump them all there, and have a folder in tangential for stories and story notes. Mainline and tangential aren’t black and white. I think it’s more of a spectrum, and most xp2 stories lie right in the middle, so it’s best that they deserve their own place.

if Aleph gets demoted to a “tangential character” or something, I’ll get demotivated even more.

IoM is my last hope. Right now I think it’s important enough to not be marked as “not mainline OotT” and forced into supplement, but if even IoM can’t make it past that barrier, then I might actually consider leaving.

xp4 and multiverse lore

xp4, Lauren, and Erin (and Landon?) are aware of the multiverse; Alicia and Tanner claim that it’s “just a theory”. The other three (four?) keep on trying to convince them to no avail.
Lauren purchased the universe 65737472/6f67656e. Surely it’s not because there’s a hidden meaning in its LSS code or anything.

They are currently against using multiverse/anomalous shenanigans to split themselves among five (six?) bodies. The reason? Alicia. They want to “keep her under control”.

box stuff

If you are one meter away from ground zero of a nuclear explosion that is 1 kiloton of TNT and you are in a bunker made of box material, will you survive? Assume that you have a source of unlimited oxygen.
Are pieces of box material less strong than full boxes?
Can boxes be broken in universes where no free will is possible?
If a box has 2.5 tons of a particle and 2.5 tons of the corresponding antiparticle inside it and they annihilate, would it break?
Can a robot with powerful weapons controlled by an AI (that is not sentient or self-aware) “intending” to break the box break a box? I think no, since the AI doesn’t actually have free will.

Proposed lore: Many who engage in universe trade have their own lines of boxes that they sell.

Sorry for what happened in the server. I want to tell you that it’s not funny when people actually believe that’s your new base and then die to it. I hope this doesn’t tear us apart and tear OotT apart. By the way, there was removed size 1 text in my latest post:

The goal is to be able to translate the first two paragraphs in the first OotT story to Eüxseq:

12 March 2031 - Hey, Mu here, law enforcement locked me in this box, that's why I'm not at base.
  This seems awfully strong, like, man. There's like 50 guys guarding me, so I think they think I'm a serious deal.

14 March 2031 - I didn't even do anything wrong. I was just out hunting and got arrested.
  I honestly don't know why I didn't break out right then.
  This box is not large, and somehow so strong I haven't been able to claw through it normally.

Not OotT-related, but I’m putting it here so I don’t forget to write up a post about this on the conwaylife.com forums tomorrow.

What if we had an “Interests beyond CA” subforum located in The Sandbox (category)? Another forum has agreed that this balances allowing off-topic discussion with moderation not being too difficult. All forum rules should be enforced here, including rule 4. To summarize, this is what I’m thinking:

Serious discussion about CA: basically everywhere else on the forums
Non-serious discussion about CA: The Sandbox
Serious discussion about non-CA topics: Interests Beyond CA (proposed)
Non-serious discussion about non-CA topics: Why are you on these forums for this?
