Uiua could possibly be created earlier?

On the official Uiua GitHub page (https://github.com/uiua-lang/uiua) the first commit is shown to be on February 27, 2023 while the article lists the date as "being developed since September 2023 or possibly earlier." referencing the first entry in the changelog. When talking about creation/development dates of languages, should we reference the earliest date shown by an official source, the changelog, or the first Git commit date?
