Be bold in editing pages! This is a principle that was ripped off from the Wikipedia policy wikipedia:WP:BOLD, but it applies here as well. For example, if you notice a comma that you're pretty sure doesn't belong on a page, you can just remove it. No need to go to the talk page and say "Hey guys, having this comma there seems pretty absurd. Perhaps the sentence can be rephrased?" Go ahead and rephrase it yourself.

Of course, there are exceptions to the above rule:

  • If you want to make a major change like renaming a page, merging a page into another, establishing a new category (see Esolang:Categorization), etc., then it can be best to make sure no one objects.
  • If your change has already been made and un-made, then you probably want to figure out why that happened. For instance, if the comma has already been removed, then added again by another person, you may want to go to the talk page and understand why it happened.

But for the most part if an article:

  • Has typos in it,
  • Needs a template, or especially if it
  • Is a stub,

then help if you can! If it has typos, fix them. If it's a stub, add more information where you can. If it needs a template, then add it.
