aesthetics is a esoteric programming language in which programs look like abstract chatbots and hikikomori users.

aesthetics was invented by Wallace Dutra a.k.a. @_wallacedutra, inspired in Vaporwave subculture, and its goddess, Vektroid a.k.a. MACINTOSH PLUS, in Floral Shoppe album.

aesthetics it is inspired in visual art and music which typically include Japanese and unknown lettering and nostalgic themes from 1980s and 1990s computer operating systems and video game consoles.

Interpreter

  • Common Lisp implementation of the Aesthetics programming language. Please note that the concrete character set deployed constitutes a dependency on the Common Lisp implementation; in corollary, Unicode support may or may not be a feature incorporated in the personal environment. The interpreter at hand has been developed and tested with Steel Bank Common Lisp (SBCL) version 1.1.4 as part of the Lisp Cabinet 0.3.5 bundle.
